Terms of use

The terms on which you use this website and book an appointment with Miles Pharmacy & Travel Clinic.

Who you are dealing with

This website is run by Miles Pharmacy & Travel Clinic, a registered pharmacy at 94 Chessington Rd, Ewell, Epsom, Surrey, KT19 9UR, telephone 020 8393 1000. The pharmacy is registered with the General Pharmaceutical Council, premises number 9011598, and is bound by its standards.

Using the website

You may use this website to read about our services, to book an appointment and to manage one. You may not use it to send anything unlawful, to try to gain access to parts of it that are not yours, or to copy its content for your own site. Everything on it, including the words, photographs and design, belongs to the pharmacy or to those who have let us use it.

We try to keep the website available and accurate, but we cannot promise that it will always be either. We may change or withdraw it, or any part of it, without notice.

Information, not advice

The Health Hub and the service pages describe conditions, vaccines and treatments in general terms, checked by a pharmacist on the date each page shows. They are not advice about you. Whether a vaccine, a medicine or a service is right for you is decided with a pharmacist at your appointment, who will consider your own history. The eligibility and route checkers on this site give a general answer from what you enter; they never tell you that you do not need a vaccine, and every answer ends at a booking or a call for that reason.

If you are unwell and need help now, call NHS 111. In an emergency, call 999.

Booking an appointment

Booking through this website requests an appointment; the pharmacy confirms it. The confirmation reaches you by email and by text message from Booked, the booking system described below. Before the appointment is completed the pharmacist confirms that the service is suitable for you, and the price that applies, so the appointment itself is the point at which a contract for the service is made.

The price shown for a service is the price you pay for it, in pounds sterling. Where a vaccine needs more than one dose, the price shown is for one dose unless the page says otherwise, and the course is explained on the service's own page. NHS services carry no charge, though an NHS prescription charge may apply to a medicine supplied under Pharmacy First unless you are exempt.

Some services take payment when you book. That payment is handled by Stripe; the pharmacy never sees your card details. Other services are paid for at the pharmacy. Which applies is shown before you confirm.

Give us accurate details. An appointment booked with the wrong name, date of birth or contact details may not be able to go ahead, and screening questions must be answered honestly because the pharmacist relies on them.

Anyone under 18 is booked by a parent or guardian, who attends the appointment.

Moving, cancelling and refunds are covered by the refund policy, which forms part of these terms.

The booking system

Bookings on this website are taken and held by Booked, an appointment system provided by trybooked.co. Your confirmation, your reminders and the sign-in link for My bookings come from Booked, so look for its name in your inbox and your messages.

Booked holds your booking on our behalf and on our instructions; how it is used is set out in our privacy notice. If the booking system is ever unavailable, you can always book by calling 020 8393 1000.

The pharmacist decides

A pharmacist may decline to give a vaccine or supply a medicine where it would not be safe or appropriate, whatever was booked. Where that happens any payment taken online for that service is refunded in full.

Our liability

Nothing in these terms limits our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud, or for anything else the law does not allow us to limit. Your rights as a consumer under the Consumer Rights Act 2015 and the Consumer Contracts Regulations 2013 are not affected by anything here.

Beyond that, we are not responsible for a loss that we could not reasonably have foreseen when you booked, or for a loss caused by information you gave us that was wrong.

If something goes wrong

Tell us first. Speak to the pharmacist, call 020 8393 1000, or write to us at the address above. We will acknowledge a complaint promptly and tell you how it is being looked into and by whom.

If you are not satisfied with our answer: for an NHS service, you can complain to NHS England, and if still unhappy to the Parliamentary and Health Service Ombudsman. For a concern about a pharmacist's or the pharmacy's professional conduct, you can contact the General Pharmaceutical Council at pharmacyregulation.org. For a dispute about a purchase, you may use the European Online Dispute Resolution platform's successor arrangements where they apply, or the courts.

The law that applies

These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales, and the courts of England and Wales have jurisdiction, except that if you live in Scotland or Northern Ireland you may bring a claim in your own courts.

We may change these terms. The version on this page on the day you book is the version that applies to that booking. The date at the top is the date of the current version.
